| I have a Beringher uphoria UM2 usb interface. It works just find and Pre Sonus does recognize it. The only issue is that Pre Sonus will either let me record from the UM2 or send the output signal to the Creative Sound Blaster soundcard I have. It will only let me use the interface as an input device or the soundcard as an output device, not both at the same time. This really isn't very useful as I can't hear anything while I'm recording it because it isn't sending the output to the soundcard. This is sooo simple but I feel the program is making it harder than it needs to be. Any ideas? Thanks |

Have you choosen Studio One to use your Behringer soundcard as output at the top of the Master Channel? EDIT: You can only use one soundcard at a time in Studio One, if that's your question. Why use more i wonder. It's possible to both input and output sound on the same soundcard at the same time. It's not OS related as far as i know. | Some of this may be Windows. I bought a crappy set of USB speakers to monitor mix downs on. I cant find an easy way to switch output to these without changing some global windows settings which ultimately affects my Windows audio config/Fire Studio Mobile config (which i do not want to do). No.. the Beringher interface is to record microphones or any line in input.. like guitar. The soundcard is necessary so I can hear whatever is going on in the mix. Pre Sonus will only let me use the Interface as an audio device OR the soundcard... so while I am using the interface I can't hear anything.. which makes it kind of pointless. |

The Behringer interface you mention has 2 inputs and 2 outputs if i have looked at the correct interface. There are two phone outputs (L+R) at the back. It also have a headphone output at the front. If not then please provide a link for the Behringer interface that shows the front and the back etc... | Normally, one would get an audio interface as a replacement for an onboard sound card. You'd then move your speakers and headphones over to the audio interface and get much better sound. Audio interface is a very generic term. The one I am referring to is strictly just for getting the signal from a microphone or other instrument into the DAW via USB. This UM2 USB interface does have two rca outputs though so I don't know. |

You shoud have sound in the headphone output. Under the Video in the link you posted you can read this among other things: 'Headphone and RCA stereo outputs provide easy monitoring' and this 'Simultaneous I/O 2 x 2' Set up your Behringer as Audio device for studio one. It's not for input only. It's a 2 x 2 meaning 2 in an 2 outputs. Other DAW can use different SoundCards. As far I know (and to tell the truth, I search since weeks for a solution), there are for Windows System only two possibility's: 1) Install a Driver between the SoundCards an DAW, for rooting the signals. E.g. 1a) ASIO4ALL: ASIO4ALL uses all WDM soundcards, witch are installed at the system. Pro is, that you can really use all Soundadapter on the system. Contra is, the latency of this handling is usually not very short. 1b) Jack: Designed for Linux, but it is working in Version 2 also for Windows. Very fast working ASIO Connection System. To connect your WDM Cards, you need a ASIO2SystemSound Bridge like VB-Cable. The ASIO Hardware can connect directly to Jack. 2) If you what to use more than one ASIO Soundsystem with S1 (e.g. you start with a small usb system and want to use later more ports) you have to buy a ASIO System, where the Driver is able to speak simultaneously to more Hardware Adapters. This kind of systems exist. But you are right, the best thing is, that S1 do not support to use more than one AudioSystems at same time. This would be my biggest wish to S1 Kind Regard Klaus S1 4 Professional Audiobox VSL44 Novation Impulse iCON iControl Pro |
